First Reconciliation (Confession) and First Communion (Holy Eucharist) typically take place at the age of reason, which is seven years old. We encourage parents to enroll their children in Faith Formation classes beginning in Kindergarten so that each child is adequately prepared to receive these important Sacraments.
The 2nd Grade Parent Handbook has all the pertinent information regarding reception of these two Sacraments for the first time. If you have additional questions, feel free to contact the Faith Formation office.
"I am the living bread that came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live forever;...he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life and...abides in me, and I in him." - Jn 6:51, 54, 56
"On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, He breathed on them, and said to them: 'Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retrain the sins of any, they are retained.'" - Jn 20: 19, 22-23
