Immaculate Conception Church
Watertown, MN
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations"
(Mt. 28:19)
We are all born as disciples of Christ to build, evangelize and bring God's Kingdom to earth.
In response to God's grace, we serve the physical and spiritual needs of our neighbor. We believe this requires:
- Respect for the life and dignity of every person from natural conception to natural death
- Compassionate outreach and evangelization
- A commitment to work for social justice.
Immaculate Conception Church can trace its roots back to 1857 when the first Catholic settlers arrived. Watertown was first visited by a priest in 1859. The parish was called Immaculate Conception in 1863 when the first church was built. May 14, 1882 marks the beginning of the written records of the parish.
Our mission is to encourage and equip our community to grow faithfully in Jesus Christ and utilize these gifts in a lifelong service to the community within the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church.
It is a church-wide ministry which strives to provide a variety of opportunities and experiences to draw teens into active, responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the faith community and the greater church.
Participation in the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, is not simply an option; rather, it is foundational to sustain the faithful in union with the very life of the Trinity and to strengthen them for the rigors of living their faith as committed disciples.
Members can enjoy fellowship through the Youth Group, Children's Choir, Contemporary Choir, Adult Choir, Bell Choir. Each year people look forward to the church's Fall Festival, the 3rd Sunday in September.
